Through No Fault of Their Own:Punitive House Demolitions during the al-Aqsa Intifada
Report by B'tselem detailing the harm to Palestinians caused by Israel's home demolition policy during the Intifada. The report focusses on punitive demolitions, and reviews, among other things, the home demolition policy throughout the years, deeminf it a form of collective punishment which harms residents who are not suspected of violent actions, including residents of nearby buildings. The report finds that in the majority of cases, residents were not given sufficient advance notice regarding demolitions, or enough time to collect their belongings, and that this measure contravenes the right to due process and international law.
